Megann + James

Real Sash + Bustle Bride Megann looks absolutely glamorous is her golden Halseene gown for their marriage celebration!

Since we opted to elope/have a minimony (with just our moms) in Bracebridge in 2020, our 2021 event was technically a rescheduled event!

We opted to have a hike-in elopement/minimony on Huckleberry Rock, at sunset. The scenery and mood was spectacular; the weather cooperated, and the day was full of laughter and appreciation (at simply being able to safely get married).

All About The Ceremony

So, technically our 2021 event at McMichael was a renewal ceremony, but finally being given an opportunity for us to celebrate our marriage with our friends and family left us especially grateful. Since we had worked with our florist, photographers, videographers, and planners the year before, there was a pervasive sense of calm and familiarity right from the start of the day. Tanya (Classy Affairs) made both of our events a dream come true; literally, not one thing went sideways!

While my off-the-rack purchase for our 2020 elopement/minimony was a good fit for hiking through the forest and hopping over creeks, being able to finally wear my Halseene dress at the McMichael was amazing; it was perfect. I knew James had anticipated a totally different style, so being able to see the look on his face when he finally saw me… very much worth the two year wait! The dress fit like a dream (thank you My Bridal Alteration), and perfectly suited our wedding venue.

Being a curvier bride, I found bridal dress shopping disheartening. S&B was the first store on my list to visit, but my family had a few other stores they wanted to check out. With that in mind, I left S&B til the very end of the hunt… “save the best for last”, right? Unfortunately, the samples in other stores were consistently size 6… which did not work for me. My first visit to S&B was a breath of fresh air; I felt like I finally belonged, and I felt beautiful in the dresses I had selected and the dresses suggested by the stylist. Thank you S&B team for providing such a wonderful experience!
