“Clayton and I have been together since we were 15 years old, we’ve grown up together. When I was 15 years old, and unrealistically picturing what my wedding to my high school boyfriend would look like, I always pictured the Ancaster Mill. Flash forward to 9 years later, and I was on top of a mountain in New Brunswick, getting engaged to that same high school boyfriend.
When we got engaged, we knew wanted our wedding to be extremely intimate and personal, and it was exactly that. We signed our marriage license in a private room, in front of just our parents. My aunt, who sang at my parent’s wedding, sang while I walked down the aisle with my dad. We wrote our own vows and had our best friend (who we couldn’t decide whether he should be a groomsman or bridesmaid because he’s so close to both of us) officiate our ceremony.
When it came to finding a dress, I knew I wanted something simple, that would complement the natural elegance of the Ancaster Mill. I started browsing online, stumbled across Truvelle, and instantly fell in love. Sash + Bustle was the first appointment I booked, and the last appointment we went to. The boutique was beautiful, the staff were incredible, and the experience was unforgettable. The Annie gown was the last dress I tried, and from the moment I put it on I knew it was the one. It was flattering, comfortable, surprisingly lightweight and simple but romantic. It was the perfect touch to our special day.”
