“Our wedding was planned to feel whimsical, intimate, and most importantly, like us. We got rid of all things traditional and boiled it down to what meant the most to us and what best symbolized our queer love.
We got married at the beautiful Pillar and Post hotel with 30 of our closest family members present. To set the tone, we spent the entire day prior and morning of together at the spa to settle in and connect with one another.
We opted for private vows, walking down the aisle together, and a watercolour painter, fire pit, and live acoustic music instead of a loud dance floor which felt VERY us. We wanted the night to feel like an elevated dinner party somewhere in France and we got just that.
The entire day felt like pure magic and that had everything to do with the fact that we felt like our best selves. We had no idea what our wedding day outfits would look like and were in awe over how beautifully they paired. Shopping at Sash and Bustle was the validating experience we were struggling to find in the wedding industry. From gendered forms everywhere we went, to struggling to find an officiant to marry a same-sex couple, we were incredibly grateful for the inclusivity of S+B.
Shoutout to Stevie for being awesome. They are the hype person I needed.”
