Bridal Trends We Spotted At NY Bridal Market

Check out the top bridal trends spotted at New York Bridal Market!

New York Bridal Market never fails to set the tone for what our nearlyweds will be wearing down the aisle—and this season was all about sculptural shape, heritage romance, and little jolts of joy. We combed the runways and showrooms to bring you the five trends we’re most excited to welcome to Sash + Bustle for our 2026/2027 brides.

1) Modern Peplum

Peplums are officially back—but think architectural, not fussy. Designers are using crisp mikado and crepe to create winged peplum layers that float over sleek columns or floaty skirts. The effect? Instant waist definition and that “couture” moment from every angle.

Why we love it

  • Carves a gorgeous hourglass on the body
  • Adds drama without heavy embellishment
  • Looks incredible in photos—especially in motion

2) Vintage Lace

Hello, heirloom romance. This season’s lace is intricate and nostalgic—think medallion and point d’esprit patterns with scalloped edges and dramatic, chapel-length veils to match. It’s all the vintage vibes, made modern with tailored fits and plunging illusion necklines.

Why we love it

  • Texture that reads luxe in person and on camera
  • Works beautifully for church, garden, and ballroom weddings
  • Pairs perfectly with long, detailed veils

3) A Pop of Colour

Colour is officially aisle-approved. From whisper-soft blush and lavender to petal-painted hems, designers are sneaking in sweetness in the most wearable ways. We’re especially obsessed with floral washes that bloom at the skirt’s edge—romantic, unique, and still timeless.

Why we love it

  • Personal without feeling costume-y
  • Flatters a wide range of skin tones
  • Makes bouquet and décor styling a breeze

4) Reverse Waistlines

Consider this the new corsetry. Instead of cinching inward, seams and paneling flip the script—curving upward at the front and dipping softly at the sides or back to elongate the torso. Paired with box pleats or detachable overskirts, the silhouette feels fresh and fashion-forward.

Why we love it

  • Elongates the body and defines the waist
  • Feels editorial while still bridal
  • Plays well with both ballgown volume and sleek skirts

5) Draping, Done Right

Soft, hand-draped crepe and chiffon were everywhere—angled pleats across bodices or liquid folds at the hip. It’s the quiet luxury answer for brides who want detail without sparkle.

Why we love it

  • Sculpts and smooths in all the right places
  • Moves like a dream on the dance floor
  • Works across necklines—from asymmetric to bateau

What This Means for S+B Brides

Expect to see these trends arriving to the boutique as new collections land through 2026 and into early 2027. Whether you’re a minimalist who loves clean structure or a romantic drawn to lace and colour, there’s a you version of every trend.
