Our wedding was held just around the corner from our home in Midtown Toronto at Granite Brewery. Dan and I go to Granite for every special occasion, so when we got engaged it seemed like a no-brainer to have them host.
We love our little apartment and the life we have built together, and we wanted to incorporate a special someone who couldn’t attend our wedding: our cat Duncan! We hid 18 cats around the venue. He was printed on the table numbers, our welcome sign, and he was even on our podium in the form of a stuffed toy.
It was such a fun experience trying on wedding dresses with Sash + Bustle. Because of the pandemic, in January 2021 I had the amazing opportunity to try on wedding dresses at home! I hopped in an Uber and picked up my dresses and had a zoom dress-up party with my family and S + B stylist.
The dress I wanted and the dress I chose were two completely different designs. What I wanted was a sleek, classic silk ball gown with a side slit. The dress I chose was the Romy by WToo: a sparkly, layered asymmetrical tulle A-line gown with lace and beading. And it was perfect. It encapsulated my personality and how I wanted to look on my wedding day.
S + B ordered that dress in for me from another boutique in Canada just so I could try it on at home. When we were able to, my sister (and maid of honour) and I went to the boutique to try it on again, and I chose a simple veil to not overpower my dress. Thank you S + B!
