“Our wedding day was perfect. The day was our ten year anniversary, and was a true celebration of queer love and community.
It was forecasted to thunderstorm all day, and thunderstorm it did. The tents and tables us + our families had spent all morning setting up were blowing away while my sister was doing my makeup! Thankfully, my family saved the day (and the tents!). By the time I got in the car to drive to the venue, the clouds parted and sun was shining down on us while we said our vows. We couldn’t believe our luck! Not a single drop of rain for the rest of the night. We spent the evening eating pizza, dancing like crazy, and serving everyone wedding cake that my brand new wife spent all week baking.
I am a big history nerd, and I loved that the silhouette of the top of the dress was reminiscent of 18th-century stays. (I was told my cleavage was Bridgerton-esque on the day, which was the biggest compliment I could ask for!) The texture made it funky and modern, which played well with my wife’s 70’s inspired brown suit + orange silk shirt. My dress was the first one I tried on, and it was love at first sight.”
