Many brides and grooms face their wedding plans with some sadness as a cherished Mom or Dad, or Grandparents have passed away before a wedding day for their children/grandchildren takes place. They are typically remembered during the wedding day in many different ways – perhaps a photograph is set up on display with a candle, or a chair of honour is set in their memory at a ceremony service or a dinner table.

I ALWAYS feel cold, even on a hot Summer day, so these little wisps of fabric are perfect for keeping the chill of an evening breeze in check. Coral continues to be such a hot colour trend for weddings and bridesmaid dresses.

In my other business venture, I am designing at least 4 weddings in 2010 that are all featuring coral as a primary colour element in their wedding design scheme. Coral and white, coral and oyster/taupe, and coral and gold are all very popular combinations.

I love, love, love coral because it is a VERY flattering shade on many types of skin tones -it warms up paler complexions, and complements darker skin tones. Not to mention the healthy glow that the perfect shade of coral seems to give every girl who wears it.

And, for those pink-averse Grooms, coral is pretty fabulous substitute for those girlier pinks – it’s still feminine, but not too over the top which means your Groom can probably deal with Coral as one of your wedding colours!

One of our fave finds has been Maihar Design – a line that features gorgeous hand-sewn ring pillows, stunning (yet simple) hair accessories, and the sweetest little flower girl wands which are a perfect substitute for a flower petal basket or pomander. And, your flower girl will love playing with the wand long after the wedding day — perfect for little princesses-to-be!
