Join us for our end of year SAMPLE SALE!

sample-sale-dec-2016

What type of gowns are available in your sample sale?

We will be selling approximately 50 gowns from our collection that are no longer available from the designer, or that we have decided to discontinue from our collection. These are sample gowns, so that means that they

are NOT in new condition. If you buy a sample gown, expect that there may be minor wear and tear, hem dust or other small imperfections that result from the gown being in a bridal boutique. We will provide info. on reputable dry cleaning options in Toronto.

 What sizes are available?

Most of our gowns are stocked in a size 8, 10 or in some cases a 12. We find that many of our collections run very true to street size (so – if you take a size 10 in street clothes, you will likely take a size 10 in one of our gowns). The good news is that if you are a size 10, you will be able to fit into most samples in our sale.

Do you offer plus sizes?

While we can order up to size 28 for most of our regular collections, stock is limited for samples. If you are a size 14+, there will likely be very limited to nil options for sample gowns, and it likely won’t be worth your time to come in.

If you are smaller than a size 10, please know that for almost all our styles, our recommended seamstresses are your best friend! We advise that a dress can usually be altered down up to 3 sizes, so if a sample is a size 10, you can likely alter it down to a size 4/6 with some modifications.

What sort of savings are you offering?

All sample gowns will be sold at 40-75% off their regular list prices. 13% HST is applicable on top of all purchases, and alterations are not included.

Can I try on other gowns besides the samples on sale?

During the sample sale, you may only try on gowns marked as samples. To try on the rest of our collection, we encourage you to book another appointment on a different date.

What dates is the Sample Sale running?

The sample sale is one day ONLY! December 15, 2016 from 4-8pm

Okay, so how do we make an appointment?

No Appointment Necessary. Please RSVP to the event just to let us know you will coming. We will be operating first come basis. If you prefer to have an appointment please book for different date through our website.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard and cash. Cheques are accepted but the gown will be held in storage for you until the cheque clears. Sorry, we do not accept debit cards. ALL SALES ON SAMPLES ARE FINAL, SOLD AS IS, AND NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES ALLOWED.

The Truvelle Trunk Show is Fast Approaching!

gabby-bayona-wedding-vancouver-coverWedding dress season has officially begun…which means Trunk Shows! We love this time of year because we are given the opportunity to meet our beautiful brides and help them find their perfect wedding dress!

We are super excited to be hosting our Truvelle Trunk Show on November 18th to 20th. Vancouver based designer, Gaby Bayona, will be here to showcase her new 2017 collection (named after the surrounding streets of her previous studio in Gastown, Vancouver). Gaby’s designs can be described as ‘a bridal line for the confident, unconventional and modern.’ Best known for her flowy, natural waist chiffon gowns, highlighted with lace, rose-gold sequins, and oversized bows. Her gowns portray a feeling of whimsical romance.

Growing up working at her mother’s bridal shop, she always dreams of one day being a designer herself. She attended a local fashion school all the while working at her mother’s bridal store, she began designing graduation dresses and soon progressed into designing her own bridal gowns. Finally she decided to drop out of school and pursue her design dream full time, and what a success that has been! Launching her first Truvelle collection in 2013, she has quickly grown her company from a storefront in Gastown to having suppliers all over the world, and has just launched her new 2017 collection. Truvelle is a proud Canadian based designer, producing and curating all designs in house!

If you are interested in attending the Truvelle Trunk Show from November 18th to 20th, please contact Sash & Bustle by email or telephone to book your appointment today! Can’t wait to see you soon!

Andrea & Eric’s Wedding Day Sneak Peeks

Andrea and Eric have finally tied the knot and we couldn’t be more excited for these high school sweeties. Being co-owner of Sash & Bustle Andrea’s wedding has been highly anticipated in the shop and amongst our brides over the past several months. So, naturally we had to share a sneak peek of their wedding photos right away. The day was captured by the talented Hugh Whitaker who’s energy and unique eye will always be appreciated!

Andrea had the honour of being the first bride to walk down the aisle in this amazing Carol Hannah structural ballgown. Twirling all day long through the Distillery District, she couldn’t have found a more perfect gown to suit her personality. Even more exciting, Sash & Bustle’s ‘Senara’ sample gown just arrived in the shop and now other brides can fall in love with it just like Andrea did! To top off her bridal look Andrea chose to blingify herself with a customized Revel cape! This unique piece added the perfect amount of sparkle that gave Andrea the bridal glow. Might we add that the crystal cape was the element  that made her Groom Eric cry when he saw her for the first time on the wedding day. We will be sure to share more photos of their unforgettable day soon!

The day was filled with so much love and happy memories, we couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect day for the perfect pair!  And now the newly-weds are off to their honeymoon to Costa Rica and we hope they enjoy the sun, rain, nature and all their quality time together.

Vanessa & Dillon’s wedding day!

Christmas is just one more sleep away! It is also the 1 year anniversary of Vanessa and Dillon’s engagement! As they say, it is proposal season and we know all the lovers out there who become engaged over the christmas season will have the happiest of holidays! So, we thought what better day to celebrate and share Vanessa and Dillon’s wedding day photos!

On September 5th, 2015 Vanessa and Dillon were married at Oakview Terrace in an intimate outdoor chapel. Vanessa and Dillon chose to take most of their photos before the ceremony and they shared the most wonderful emotional first look moment. Dillon’s breath was taken away with the sight of his beautiful bride, such a great moment and memory for them to share together forever! After portraits and bridal party photos we snuck away to wait for the ceremony time. The ceremony was filled with emotion, love and just pure magic. Once it was official we all went out to a beautiful sun filled garden for cocktails with the bride and groom. Later in the evening everyone shared a scrumptious meal, cut cake and danced the night away! I hope that everyones wedding day is filled with as much love and happiness as Vanessa and Dillon’s! Congratulations love birds!

Gown: Vanessa rocked the “Natalie” gown by Truvelle Bridal – A refined unique beauty of a dress! The lace bodice and soft almond skirt was the perfect touch of romance and whimsy.

Accessories: The bride and bridal party wore customized Hushed Commotion jewlery. We visited the Brooklyn based deisnger earlier this year and came up with the perfect accessories to fit the vision! All inspired by her work of course!

Bridesmaids: Dusty Blue skirts are by Alexandra Grecco, and the tops were made by yours truly!

Flowers: Our go-to fave of faves Opening Night Flowers created the florals for the wedding, and didn’t disappoint.

Photography: So many thank you’s for Jennifer Newberry Photography! The fine details and thoughtful things are what counts!

Amy & Pip’s beautiful orchard wedding!

It is always such a pleasure to see a Sash & Bustle brides wedding photos, thank you Katie Nicole for sharing! Amy and Pip wed in the summer and it looks like they had a magical wedding day! Amy is such a sweet person, it was a pleasure to help her find her wedding day look and to play a tiny part in her very special day.  The Saja gown that she fell in love with is so light and airy, pairing beautifully with a simple chapel veil by Veil Trends, and delicate headpiece by Untamed Petals. The beautifully beaded flutter sleeves, sheer neckline and elegant sway of her gown was a perfect option for her Kurtz Orchard nuptials. Amy looked simply radiant, comfortable and happy on her wedding day. Just how it should be!  Congratulations to Amy + Pip on your marriage!

Then and Now

We are all settled in at our new location and we are getting our grove. It feels like a life time ago that we first saw the space that would be Sash & Bustle’s new home! Its so fun for us to look back and see how things have transformed. It is the most rewarding feeling to realize a vision, and our new space is more than we could have ever imagined. Here is a glimpse in to the transformation of our beloved store…

oliveolives_trio2 photo_5-1024x768

The previous business who occupied 779 Queen Street East moved out in early 2015. Leaving a perfect space in a historic building vacant for us to happily discover. With silver ceilings, large displays and a massive fake tree in the middle of the space its safe to say that things have changed a lot!

First day of construction, and we can see all the way through the building…IMG_3710

We have change rooms!…IMG_3793    IMG_3909

A good coat of the prettiest white paint is helping the vision come to life…IMG_4090

Now all we need to do is move in!IMG_4424

The dresses made it safe and sound! And might I say, they look so marvelous hanging in the new space! We are so excited for what the future is going to bring for Sash & Bustle. We have heaps more photos of the new space , but i’ll save those for another post. Until then, if you pass by our store front or just love the dress in our window, holler at us! We would love to meet you!imagebyjulia_park_photo-0025imagebyjulia_park_photo-0046
